The Early Days

The Jeakins family have worked in removals and transport dating back to the 1890s when G. W. Jeakins set up as a carter in Hoxton. In 1974 D. J. Jeakins bought the company J. A. Coles which was devoted entirely to household removals.

J.A. Coles Today

Both companies, J. A. Coles and Jeakins Transport, remain fully owned and controlled by the Jeakins family. The modern fleet of 20 vehicles and 10 trailers remain in the traditional red and blue livery, which is very distinctive and recognisable in the industry. Over the years the business has expanded from the domestic market into the international market. The fleet now delivers across Europe and the company arranges shipping across the globe. Coles has a network of tried and trusted destination partners in all major cities of the world.

Transport journals have reported on the steady growth of the business: to view a recent publication please click below on read more.
